They’re great if you want to continue playing for an extended period of time, and they’ve still got an excellent return on investment. In fact, if you plant enough of something super quick, like lettuce which only takes 10 minutes, you can essentially run through them nonstop until you can harvest them. Crops need to be watered too, and watering them reduces the amount of time remaining before you can harvest them. Animals must be fed regularly, fish and crops have to be fished and harvested respectively after a set period of time, an assortment of trees means income every 17 minutes, and flowers must be watered every so often to earn the maximum amount of money from them. A great farm has a blend of various types of resources, and most of them require interaction to get the most out of them. Luckily, Milkstone Studios clearly didn’t want people stuck playing that way either. At first, the aspect of a farming game working in real time like this was worrisome I wanted to dive in head first and play nonstop, not run around a bit, plant some stuff, and come back at night to play for 20 more minutes before bed. Meanwhile, seasons pass every 17 minutes, which control potential weather effects, the types of crops you can plant, and which trees you’ll be able to harvest. Andalusian donkeys need to be fed every 45 minutes, and you can “harvest” them after feeding them twice. Carrots take 20 minutes to grow, for example, while watermelons take two days. That isn’t to say that days cycle in a certain amount of time like in Stardew Valley. Crops, animals, flowers, fish, and buildings in Farm Together all work on their own cycles. The tutorial is rather lackluster, but you’ll quickly discover two facts: there’s really no “wrong way” to play as practically everything you do will earn you a return on your investment sooner or later, and everything in the game is based on a real-time clock. You get the center rectangular space out of a massive 5×5-rectangle grid to begin with, which is more than enough for the selection of crops, trees, animals, fish, buildings, and decorative items you can throw down everywhere. Heck, you don’t even leave the farm! But here’s the thing: all of that was surprisingly okay, because Farm Together still does a LOT with the farm you have, and it’s easily as addictive as anything I’ve played.įarm Together throws you into a blank canvas of a farm and lets you go wild with it. Farm Together doesn’t have NPCs, it doesn’t have minigames (like the fishing mechanics in Stardew Valley), and it doesn’t have any kind of combat. I originally assumed Farm Together would be another “just okay” game when I first saw it, but then someone I trust actually put it in the same realm as Stardew Valley, and I had to try it out.įirst off, comparing the game to Stardew Valley is rather impossible. I’ve played some other unique farming games along the way, like Deiland, but there have been plenty of games that were just meh as well. Then Stardew Valley came along and I spent nearly as much time with it, maxing out my friendship ratings with everyone I could, fighting my way through the mines, and becoming an expert farmer and fisherman along the way. From the moment I played Minecraft for the first time, I became a huge fan of games with farming.

Vantage V: also suitable for power walkersĬyclists have long fretted and obsessed over how many Watts they generate. The Suunto app is weirdly low on actionable insights – Suunto seems to largely aim its wearables at runners and fitness chasers who will have the numbers analysed by an actual, human coach – but its PTE scoring is consistently excellent, and the EPOC figure is very interesting. EPOC is the volume of oxygen you need to consume post-exercise, in order to recover. PTE is an extremely useful figure that could be simply summed up as 'How hard was that workout on a scale of 1 to 5?'. However, the 9 does some more number crunching on the same pulse data to calculate PTE (peak training effect) and EPOC (Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption). This measurement of how well your body performs at the extremes of its endurance previously involved running or cycling in a lab with a big mask and a welter of electrodes on, but can now be estimated just from analysing cardio data. However, as well as stamina, it offers some unusual training insights.Ī lot of fitness watches will now estimate your VO2 Max, and the Suunto 9 is not different. With up to an astonishing 120 hours of battery life while tracking your movements via GPS and monitoring your heart rate, the Suunto 9 is a running watch for ultra-marathoners and those who like to skip up mountain paths like a lycra-clad goat. Suunto 9: welcome to the epoch of EPOCīuilt for endurance, the Suunto 9 Baro also offers some interesting training data Or, at the very least, it'll let you know who runs the most in midweek training. Now, it'll help your team of weekend warriors train smarter and play harder. That's longer than we've ever trained for football, so it's hard to envision battery life being an issue.Īs well as in-game tracking, SmartCoach offers "actionable insights and sport science advice from nutrition to sleep, coaching the user towards game day."Ĭatapult’s technology is used by coaches and players at Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City. The SmartPod charges wirelessly and lasts for five hours. It lets you compare your efforts to the greatest players in the world – which might prove a bit depressing – and "football peers and community", which should be genuinely motivational. The SmartCoach app was created with the aid of "Premier League performance specialists", and claims to provide pro-level insights into your efforts. The PLAYR system's three elements are the SmartPod, which tracks your movements with accuracy to the nearest metre, the SmartVest, which contains the SmartPod and is the bit you wear (obviously), and the SmartCoach app. See non-discrimination rules under FAQ #A2-A. A conservative approach until we receive further guidance, could be to provide both types of leaves to your employees if your city decides to offer the FFRCA type leave at this time. The law notes the tax credit is only available to employers who uniformly provide leave to all employees, without discrimination against certain categories of workers such as highly compensated employees, full-time employees, or on the basis of seniority. At this point in time, it is not totally clear whether an employer can provide only one type of leave, such as only Emergency Paid Sick Leave, and not the expanded Family Medical Leave.Practically speaking, it seems cities opting to offer this FFCRA type leave in 2021 may want to guide employees to exhaust the two week Emergency Paid Sick Leave first since in many cases employees receive 100% of pay (max of $511/day) before then using the expanded family leave, paid at two-thirds (max of $200/day) for the same qualifying reason. Arguably, it would seem if an employer provides the optional leaves, those would be used prior to any other city paid leave. If there is a sequence of the leave that must be used. Our best information at this point is that the 2021 law only provides a total of 12 weeks of expanded FML and FMLA combined, but we await further guidance to clarify this issue. In the FFCRA of 2020, the DOL clearly limited the expanded and traditional FMLA to 12 weeks total.
Did a quick visual check in the store and all seemed right. I picked up the black vinyl at Newbury Comics on Saturday. Some times it seems as though bots post with the same comments in multiple threads.Įdit: Anyone digging the "tk tk tk" of the keys you can hear in the mid-to-late part of True Love Waits? It's possible that this recording, at this time, just isn't for you - with the exception of the faulty pressings, of course. I don't know about you, but I have 1000's on my Wish List I can turn too. If you think it is, then just pass the album by. That's not to say I don't care about the issue, but in this case, it's not a problem, imo. I don't personally find the compression destructive in this case. Guess what? Some of us are listening to this new music and really digging it. Hey guys - it's compressed! Hey guys - the Vinyl sounds better! Hey guys - there's a spelling error in the track listing on the cover, I'm sending it back and will buy again when they fix their QC and run a spell check. It's just gotten a little silly when every single release these days ends up with the same old argument going around and around. We know those recordings from the past, so have to come to terms with whatever changes are made. Legacy releases are a different matter entirely. The sound they want, or expect, may not be what I'd choose or do - but then, they're not my songs, and I'm no record producer. Either way, they're not going to target systems with a small installed base, which is the category we fit in. Surely Thom Yorke isn't sitting at home listening through $5 computer speakers. Surely the studios Radiohead use have a decent playback system. People suggesting artists aren't listening on "revealing systems" are being whimsical. Certain sounds end up defining an era, are stolen and reused (for example, Bonham's drum sound started popping up all over the place in the 70's and 80's).Ĭompression isn't inherently bad, but too much of it can be. As we all know from listening to recordings from the 50's, 60's, 70's and on - "fashions" or vogues come and go. On those who complain about the compression used, I do have an opinion.Ĭompression wasn't invented in the modern age, it's been part of recorded music for a long time. On the subject of distortion on the Vinyl, I have no comment to make, since I've not heard it. And that sometimes it's hard to distinguish between the compression that happens in the mixing stage and the one in the mastering stage.Īs someone noted earlier, there are two discussions here. Which would go to show that these things are connected and changing one thing may throw the whole thing off kilter. Even if no compression was added in the remix, the amount it has just doesn't work as well in this balance. ) And I'm guessing this because the bass sounds much more compressed (see, there it is again!) in the remix, and not in a particularly good way. But I don't know, really (and not arsed to find out. Some of it may even have been printed while tracking. So they probably had a certain amount of eq'ing, compression and such already applied to them. I don't know how the tracks, or stems, were provided, but I'm guessing they were not the raw tracks but the tracks that were used in the mix. So the end result has very little to do with what the mastering does or doesn't do to it. The remix brings the drums and bass up in the mix and that changes the whole feel. I prefer the first bit, based on this short low quality comparison clip. A Place For Anything & Everything James Bond Spam These days, Seiko continues to push forward on those parallel tracks, introducing the world’s first solar-powered GPS watch (the Astron) while also producing stylish re-editions of groundbreaking mechanical watches from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. Seiko has been around since the 1880s, but after 1969 they became a major global force in both quartz and mechanical watchmaking, creating the world’s first titanium diver’s watch and the world’s TV watch (without a doubt the coolest way to watch Knight Rider in 1982). It also marked the moment when Seiko officially hit the big time. Released on Christmas day in 1969, the Astron boasted the world’s first quartz movement and was 100 times more accurate than any other watch on earth. What you may not know, however, is the name of the watch that tipped the first domino: the Seiko Quartz Astron. The result of this upset was a new era of bold luxury watch designs like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus, and the arrival of quartz-centric brands like Swatch, which treated watches more like collectible accessories than fine jewelry. If you’ve spent any time reading about watches you've probably come across mention of the “quartz crisis,” the period in the 1970s when battery-powered quartz watches-which were far more reliable than traditional mechanical watches, and much cheaper to produce-put the old-school Swiss watch industry on notice. But the historical significance of the Japanese brand extends beyond its cult-favorite status. For over a century, Seiko watches have endeared themselves to collectors of all stripes, who dig their sturdy make, sleek design, and approachable range of prices. Because dragons don’t have an established look, we can use our imagination to fill the gaps and create our own fantastic creatures. Since dragons are fantastic creatures, how do we know their characteristics, colors, and shapes? Some dragons are giant, some are small, some have a long body, some don’t, some have horns, and some have wings, but how do we know all of this?ĭragons have a set of characteristics that, although they make up a unique appearance, actually come from different animals, especially reptiles.Īnd that’s the fun part. You can find several pieces of art with dragons as a theme, and each one will be different from the other. The popularity of dragons has grown over the years, with many people seeing them as symbols of power and strength or evil creatures that need to be conquered, especially in books, comics, fantasy video games, and role-playing games. They are a popular creature in art, present in paintings, tapestries, sculptures, and even stained glass windows. They have been present in folklore and art for centuries.
Starting at around 115°, it took about 30 minutes to reach my strike temperature of 146° and a mash temperature of 142°. My usual procedure is to use hot tap water, to save on time and energy. This recipe required around 7 gallons of water. I figured this would help me to explore some of the features of the system, while also producing a tasty beer! The goal was to clean off any manufacturing oil, and have it all ready for brew day.įor my first brew on the Foundry, I went with a German pils using a step mash. I filled up the rig with PBW and ran a test of the pump, followed by a quick rinse with hot water. I didn’t do it all in one sitting, but I would estimate it took about an hour to pull out all of the pieces, do the minor bits of assembly, and clean the equipment prior to brewing. The packaging was super sturdy, but also easy to open up. This system is a snap to unbox and set up. This review will be based on that experience, with the caveat that I’m still learning the system. This includes 5 gallon batches of a German pils, American IPA, Dortmunder Export, Scottish export ale, and stout, as well as a 3 gallon batch each of a moderate-strength winter ale and an imperial IPA. The steel insert to adapt for small batches is supposed to improve efficiency in that case, by preventing recirculated mash runnings from just flowing over the top of the grain bed, rather than through it.Īt this writing, I’ve brewed seven batches with the system. I normally work with 5 gallon batches, and don’t see that changing in the future, but I do occasionally want to brew 2.5 or 3 gallon batches. In terms of options, I got the recirculation pump kit, along with the small-batch adapter. Luckily, I managed to buy direct from Anvil on a 10% discount sale, and they had free shipping! It took about two weeks for the setup to arrive, and I eagerly unboxed it as soon as it hit my doorstep. I want a system that will still work after I upgrade my phone, or when my wifi is down, or if the unit’s software is “helpfully” updated. The final selling point for me was that the controls are supposed to be dead-simple and all on-board the unit, rather than hiding behind a Bluetooth-connected Android app. Even though I’m limited to 120 for the time being, I like the idea of having the option open. The ability to switch between 120 and 240 voltage was also a plus in the long-term. The heating element was particularly well rated, and had high marks for excellent heating plus minimal risk of scorching. First, the cost (<$500 for the version with pump) seemed fairly reasonable, and the reviews for quality and reliability were solid. On the upside, there's a lot of great music and beautiful outdoor locales (Hawaii). I'm not a fan of over-sized fake chests, but when the word "busty" is in the title of the flick, I can't complain about that. Lots of lovely girls here, and Nikki Nova and Cheyenne Silver are stunningly beautiful. Considering how badly she simulates sex on screen, maybe she's not doing it right in real life either. Ironically, in the credits Deanna claims that she has never had an orgasm. If not for their slowly moving hands, I would have thought they were asleep. I consider the Deanna Merryman/Scott Styles sex scene one of the very worst I've ever seen. These scenes are very low energy and set to mellow music. There's one girl/girl simulated sex scene which is passable, and two guy/girl scenes (one OK, one terrible). Two or three girls perform some combination of stripping, dancing, wriggling, caressing themselves and/or each other, occasionally licking a nipple and throwing sexy looks at the camera, all set to music. My problem with the sex scenes is that most of them are not simulated sex (which I like), but are what I call "stripper shows". and if you don't get Deanna Merryman's comment about a "NASCAR driver", read the trivia page for this film. Ironically, I think I laughed more during the closing credits where the actresses were interviewed than I did during the film. Alabama Jones and the Busty Crusade (2005) 78 min. Busty maid teases in uniform and stockings 4 min. Other than that, the Jungle Bill character was actually very annoying (that trek thru the jungle with him seemed to last forever) and there were no sustained laughs. Nikki Nova was most frequently tagged: nova (3), nikki (3), tits (2), lesbians (2), brunette (2). Although there is an occasional amusing line, most of the comedy here falls rather flat (unlike the actresses), and the only scene I found funny was the one where Jungle Bill hit the girls with some rapid fire silly quiz questions (a gimmick also used in "Busty Cops 2"). Silly movie spoofs can be fun, and erotica uses that theme a lot, but when the comic writing falls flat, it can be painful to sit through (can you say "Epic Movie"?). Unfortunately, this flick is just not very funny and the sex scenes are are pretty lame. then I can put up with subpar acting, cheesy special effects, fake tits, and other weaknesses. As long as the ladies are beautiful, the sex is hot, and the stuff between the sex scenes keeps me laughing.
